The Two Fish ☯
“The lion and the lamb laying down together symbolize that strength and innocence are not in conflict, but naturally live in peace” – A Course in Miracles
The moon has long been awe inspiring to me and I’m sure this has been true throughout time for all of our ancestors. It’s just so mystical and almost unknowably magical; it’s light so close that I can almost feel it’s gentle love, yet so distant that it makes it untouchable. In astrology, the moon represents our mother. If I think of the moon like this, it makes sense that her cycles can both ask us to let things go as well as urge us to move forward in our passions. Every good mother wants her children to grow and to soar, and at times, growing requires understanding when it’s time for change.
Sometimes being confronted with the idea of change can seem scary, but this process of releasing was shown to me very simply as the tide coming in and sweeping things away only to bring new things in, so in a sense, nothing is lost at all. Only replaced for the better. And, I don’t know about you… but I tend to crave change and the feeling that it brings with it. That clear and almost palpable feeling of newness— like a breath of fresh air in the countryside after being in a city too long.
I did some channeling to take a deeper look at what this full moon means for us as a collective, and I really enjoyed what advice came through. Energetically, this past full moon in Leo on the 16th of February is asking us to bravely “own our path”, and to “feel the fear of something, and do it” anyway. The rewards for doing this are deep gratification from stepping into our power and a sense of pride at being so courageously authentic—think regal lion energy. I also heard another piece of advice about this moon, and it was to, “leave space to run.” I found this particularly interesting, because lately my dreams have been full of running, not running away from something or running to something, but just running for fun. Feeling the air rushing past my entire body as I’m running and leaping over obstacles, and the raw physical power that my body possesses to perform these feats. In these dreams, running feels like freedom. Perhaps the message here is to make sure that on your chosen path, you save space for freedom and make sure to avoid getting too caught up in where you’re going to truly enjoy where you’re at. This is a reminder I most definitely need from time to time, and probably we all do in the fast-paced world that we live in. It’s just too easy to get caught up in trying to make things happen rather than going back to that space that led you to choose your path in the first place, which is most often, that divine spark of passion and curiosity; the call from within to start something new.
This leads to the next message I got about this full moon when asking what we are being gently nudged to release, and that was the word, “force”. Perhaps we have confused the strength of the lion with the idea of outward force, when really it is an inner knowing. A knowing of who we are, of where we have been, and of where we are going. Our inner fire is resolute, sometimes to a fault, and we need to know when the time has come to temper the flames of creativity rather than fan them into overdrive. There is a great sense of peace that comes with allowing things to be as they are and unfold as they will as much as there is an intense excitement that comes with rushing towards something using all of our willpower and creative force. A mindful balance is needed between the two this month. A taming of the fiery lion through flowing with the current rather than against.
When I think of blending these two approaches to life, I think of the idea of the lion and the lamb. Two animals that we think of as opposites in their natures, but two energies that create balance when we use them in conjunction with one another. Our inner lions can almost always benefit from our inner docile lamb and vice versa. This month, I hope that you can start to consciously cultivate the inherent relationship between these two energies while you are dancing the dance of life and that you always remember to make room on your path for fun.
With all of the love and encouragement,
